Vtech - Sing & Discover Story Piano

The sing and discovery story piano by Vtech was a birthday gift for our one year old. He loves this toy! Not only does he love it but his big brother secretly loves it as well. They play tug of war over the microphone. It can really take a beating too because it has been dropped, dragged and slobbered all over. I like the fact that there is a volume setting and appreciate the all in one busy center. This toy gets a lot of play time here at our house.

Comfy Crawlers

Now back to what was in that box before I got lost in the tropics. Inside the package was a pair of denim comfy crawlers. My super star here has very dried up knees from crawling around. We use Curel lotion to help moisturize his skin. These pants seemed like a great addition to his wardrobe. He gets extra padding for his knees while giving his skin a break. Unfortunately these pants were too big for him because I requested the next size up (18-24 months). Thinking they would shrink a bit I put them in the wash but as you can see they didn't shrink too much. No problem, he will grow into them. These pants are cute, durable and Made in the USA. Thank you Allizon.com for such great service and products.

Fresh Milk Company - Little Animals Review

If you like organic tees for your little ones with cute farm or jungle animals printed on the front then "Little Animals" by Fresh Milk Company is the place for you! I came across this company while doing some research and I had to buy one for my Super Star. In addition to being organic, they are tagless and Made in the USA. The screen print has held up pretty well after a few washes but make sure you pay attention to the size chart. I shopped by age because it's been a while since he has been weighed. The binding around his arms is a little too tight and the fabric rolls up a bit. There are notes about fabric shrinkage that appear in another page but it's cut off. This organic tee would be a better fit if I would have bought the next size up. They have a really cute website and great packaging options available that will appeal to parents with twins and triplets. When you get your package it is already decorated with ribbon and ready to give as a present.

Allizon.com - Perfect for Tropical Loving Moms!

What a lucky lady! Today instead of finding the usual load of junk mail and bills in my mailbox there was also a box inside. I will tell you more about this tomorrow. What I didn't expect to find in the box was a sheer purple bag with these two products inside. Immediately the cap was off the shower gel and we all began smelling and passing it around. The little tin can was next and inside was this tropical smell. After I applied some to my hands that smell took over my senses! It took my mind back nearly ten years ago when I was on my honeymoon. I'm gonna stop there - LOL. When my hubby came home I jumped in the shower to try out the shower gel. It too reminded me of that same honeymoon when we relaxed outside in the hammocks on the island of Aruba. Good times! If you have been to some of those tropical islands then these products will remind you of where you have been. It's not realistic for us to go away as a couple alone to spend time together with young children but thank you Allizon.com for reminding me that I was there. It was almost a calgon take me away moment, but let's face it I didn't want to clean out the bath toys just to take a 5 minute bath. Most moms with little ones take those speedy showers and this was a nice addition to mine. As always click on the photos to take you directly to their home links.

TBO Designs

While working on the 5 Minutes for Mom cyber baby shower I came across TBO Designs. Jenny Podusko offered her services as a graphic designer and wanted to know how she could participate. Seriously, I didn't think I would need her services until much later for some other projects but little did I know that I would need her today! Sunday, I went to Wal-Mart to get photos taken of my little (big) guy. He just turned one so I wanted something taken with a camera that was higher tech than a 35 mm. After working with the photographer and her trying to sell me this $300.00 package (no thank you) I asked to just get the basic package and let me buy the disk. I love to email out photos to friends and family. If I really like the pose then I will have it printed later on. The photographer tells me that there is very low light on her lens and if I would just purchase the photos then it will have perfect color. I think to myself, surely I can use photo shop and fix these myself. I bring the disk home and begin to play around. I'm not a graphic artist and I can't fix these photos. Then it occurred to me, "send them to Jenny at TBO Designs!" I emailed her all the photos and within 45 minutes and a very small fee (much smaller than the $300 picture package) these are the results! Thank you Jenny so much for fixing my photos. If anyone else out there needs graphic work done Jenny can help you. Click on the photo to be directly taken to her site. She's also getting my head of the class award!

Bark Bark Vac Mitts

Our son only walks when he wants to and spends most of his time crawling on the floor. Recently he had his first birthday and I thought it would be good for friends and family to purchase walking toys to help him out. He received three different types of walking toys that help little ones to walk. The first one he received is made by Little Tikes. It's a puppy vacuum and he loves it because it barks and the ears move up and down when he rolls it back and forth. There is a see through filter where plastic pieces fly around

and it has an adjustable handle. He chases our vacuum when I'm doing the deed so it's nice that he can have his own. As much as I would like to say that it has helped him get up and walk more I can't. The truth is he just sits and rolls it back and forth and sometimes he drags it with one hand while he crawls around the house. When he's good and ready I'm sure he will stand up and walk with it but for now, not so much.

Bright Stars Teethers

It's Mr. Waddles! My daughter bought the duck for my baby shower. Our big guy loves that duck. He chews on the duck and sleeps with the duck. Occasionally, he even throws the duck from his crib. Mr. Waddles has been through a lot in a year. Recently while shopping for a friends baby shower I came across these teether pals at Target. I purchased one for my friends new baby and another for mine. Rae, the bunny, was my choice and he's being played with right now! Welcome to the family Rae.
Babies need a lot of things, care, love, toys, cribs, strollers, car seats, baby costumes. That’s right, little babies need Tom Arma costumes that will make them the cutest kid at their first Halloween or costume party. There are so many absolutely adorable costumes for babies available for your children. Take a look around and I’m sure you will find something that perfectly suits your babies beautiful personality.

Fisher Price - Giggle Fun

Bounce & Giggle - Cow is so much fun. My son got it as a birthday gift. You touch the cows nose and it bounces and giggles. He cracks up every time it turns on. There are a variety of bounce and giggle animals by Fisher Price. No matter which animal you choose you can't go wrong with this toy. There is one slight downside. For a while you will have to push the nose because it isn't that sensitive to the touch. A baby would have to push hard but they will really enjoy it once they become a toddler. It is one of those toys you will keep around for a long time.

Sandbox Threads

Sandbox Threads is a little treasure that I came across while browsing through link exchanges. The Famous Faces section caught my eye with one of my favorite actors, John Cusak. This particular graphic is based on a character he played, Lloyd Dobler in the movie Say Anything, what a find! The shopping feature is nice because it is all about the consumers choice. I was able to customize the color of this t-shirt and graphic. Our package arrived in just a couple of days. What a nice surprise this purchase turned out to be. These shirts are really soft and tagless. We put it on our big guy right away and took this photo. You might see it on the slide show at Sandbox Threads because we just had to share this with Andy. He's the owner of this hip site and he's a stay at home dad to boot. Hats off to you Andy! Please pay attention to the size chart. For those of you with big babies or toddlers you might have to buy the next size up like I did. To date the graphic is holding up nicely after several washes. We purchased it at the end of June. Sandbox Threads has lot of graphics and styles to choose from so have fun with it! He's also getting my head of the class award!
There are some darn cute clothes for kids these days.

Space Saver

Fisher-Price Space Saver High Chair is a great product. My husband and I registered for this item for our baby shower. This chair was for our third child and we had used the standard high chairs before. We wanted to try something different because we have a limited amount of space in our dining area. We strapped it to our dining chair and that was it! This seat has three adjustment positions but we only used the one seen in the photo. I love that I can throw the trey in the dishwasher because it can get really messy with food. The only thing I didn't care for was cleaning off the padding on the seat. These pads are difficult to clean on any high chair so I still recommend it!

About Me

After earning a Masters degree in Sociology from the University of Houston, Clear Lake in 2005 Pamela learned that she and her husband would be expecting their second son in 2006. She knew she wanted to be a stay at home mom and found a niche market in the baby clothing industry. In June of 2007she launched Happy Panda a Made in the USA clothing label geared toward big and tall babies sold online.

During this time she connected with many bloggers and learned the ins and outs of product reviews. She began writing for several blogs; business and personal. She organized the first of many "cyber baby showers" sponsored by businesses that had family friendly products. She also helped with the organization of submissions and distributions of prizes for the 5 Minutes for Mom blog parties and helped maintain their blog directories as needed. In 2008 she went into labor while "tweeting" but quickly left for the hospital to give birth to a healthy baby girl.

Soon after CPSIA had announced new testing regulations for all products sold to children under the age of 12. In June of 2010 Pamela made the decision to close her online business due to the high cost of regulatory requirements. Pamela continues to blog here on A Renaissance Woman and has kept her close online social ties. She continues to consult on online events, social media and lend her skills where needed. Pamela lives in the great state of Texas with her husband, four children and two dogs. As of September 2011 she has servicing small businesses with their Social Media needs.
